You Are A Star was founded for just such a mission – to see every at-risk child in Chicago shown that people care. And, not simply from afar, no, we take our message into the schools and churches that make up this great city. We bring a message of belief in oneself and empowerment as told by our stage productions. We take the children on a journey to a place where their worth is judged by their actions – not by their address or skin color.
A 501(c)(3) organization, like You Are A Star NFP, takes donations from the public and businesses, both large and small, and uses those funds specifically to accomplish their ongoing mission. Each and every dollar given is tax deductible, too, so you’re rewarded come tax time for doing something good with your money. And what we do for these children is good, but, more than that, it’s necessary. There’s not enough positivity in these children’s lives on a daily basis – from the media, from their surroundings, and from society at large. They need a better message and they need it now.
